Frosting process of glass water cup

Feb 19, 2022

There is a very important process of glass frosting, because it can greatly improve the appearance and practicability of glass. And there are more than one sanding method, and each sanding effect is different, so let's explain each sanding method for you.

1. Frosting process: the frosting of the glass is to immerse the glass into the prepared acid liquid (or apply acid paste), erode the surface of the glass with strong acid, and form crystals on the surface of the glass with ammonia hydrogen fluoride in the strong acid solution. Therefore, if the frosting process is done well, the surface of the frosted glass is extremely smooth and hazy due to crystal scattering.

If the surface is rough, it indicates that the acid corrosion on the glass is serious, which belongs to the immature craftsmanship of the sanding master. Or some parts still have no crystallization (commonly known as no sanding, or the glass has spots) also belong to poor process control (the process is difficult). The process has good properties for the scintillation crystal on the surface of glass cup formed under critical conditions.

2. Sand blasting process: this process is very common. It uses the sand shot by the spray gun at high speed to hit the glass surface of the glass to form a small concave convex surface, so as to achieve the effect of scattering light, and form a hazy feeling when the light passes through. The surface feels rough during sand blasting. Because the surface is damaged, the bright glass looks like a white glass.

The frosting process of the glass is actually its surface treatment, so the side shows the importance of the surface treatment method to the glass. If not handled well, it will seriously affect its appearance. Therefore, in order to produce high-quality and beautiful glasses, both internal technology and surface technology should be taken seriously.
